How long will it take for my hair to grow out?

I cut my hair really short (just past the bottom of my ear) a couple of months ago (around about february) and i HATE it. I always wear a hat or scarf over my head to hide my hair. I really, really, really want it to be about... waist length. Just past my waist. How many years will this take? please help! ADDITIONAL DETAILS: I never straighten or style my hair or use any heat or anything like that, my hair is naturally very volumous and bouncy, but it's straight. My hair is currently in very good condition, and I cut it regularly to get rid of unhealthy hair.
