Mixed girl hair ......?

I'm Biracial . My hair is naturally curly most of the time I wear it straight but I'm thinking about a natural look for the Summer. My problem is the front of my hair. I have shoulder length hair when its straight and its EXTREMELY thick. I use Pantene conditioner and when i get out of the shower i leave a little bit in because it helps my curls hold but while the curls in the back of my head are perfects little bouncy spirals the hair on the top and in the front of my head seems to frizz out and uncurl as it dries, looking more like poofy waves . It would be very helpful if some one could suggest some Affordable products or some tips on how to fix this little problem
