My hair is so boring! Can I get some tips?

its thin. flat, dull dark brown, LOTS of choppy layers, naturally wavy, (i straighten it every day) and its not shiny or bouncy. :( im trying to grow it out but its taking FOREVER. what can i do to make it grow faster? I also have side bangs, and i have to wash my hair at least every other day. I used to tease it, but thats not exciting anymore, I was thinking I could get a wax or pomade to make it messier, but IDK. and i use an old hair straightener, like ancient ceramic, and i air dry my hair.
