Yesterday my car began fuming profusely and when i looked under it i saw antifreeze was pouring out of it?

The leak was coming from the front passenger side and when i poured water and more antifreeze in its proper container it would not hold. Also, the car would over heat but when I turned the AC on and turned it off the temperture would go down but then would spike again. The antifreeze was spraying out from the top as well. Any ideas on the cause? The car is a 2001 SAAB 9-5 if it helps.
