Safe to microwave pyrex with food in it?

I recently bought pyrex containers and it says that it is safe to put in the microwave. It doesn't specify however whether when I put it in the microwave, if it can contain food? Is it only safe to microwave empty, or can I put things in it, like leftovers when I use it in this manner? Thanks.
